On of my greatest joys as Landscape Photographer is photographing Lighthouses. The San Juan Islands are home to four Lighthouses, the Lime Kiln Lighthouse, the Cattle Point Lighthouse, the Patos Island Lighthouse and the Turn Point Lighthouse.
And luckily the Lime Kiln Lighthouse and Cattle Point Light are just quick ferry ferry ride to Friday Harbor, San Juan Island and a short drive. In some ways the Cattle Point Lighthouse might seem to be the lessor of the two. But what it lacks in Architectural style it more than makes up in location with its stunning perch on the south tip of San Juan Island. It's the perfect combination of Landscape Photography and Architectural Photography in one easy trip. Gotta love that.
